Spanish first division La Liga has been suspended for at least two rounds and Real Madrid went into quarantine after a basketball player who shares the same training facilities tested positive for Coronavirus.

With that in mind, it seems inevitable that Tuesday’s Champions League game between Real Madrid and Manchester City will be postponed.

The same goes for Juventus-Lyon, seeing as the Bianconeri are in quarantine after Daniele Rugani tested positive.

The Dutch Eredivisie today announced it was suspending the league, as did the Danish Football Association, Portuguese League and also MLS.

In other sports, the NBA has shut down after two basketball players tested positive, including one who had ‘jokingly’ touched all the microphones of reporters at a press conference only a few days ago.

The International Basketball Federation had already suspended all competition from March 13.

Tennis tournament the ATP has been suspended for at least six weeks, with events in golf, hockey, motorsport, cricket and darts all postponing events.
