Spezia vs. Cremonese predictions have the hosts coming out on top in this Serie A bottom six clash. With relegation very much a concern for both sets of fans, three points will be very valuable on Sunday.

Spezia vs. Cremonese odds

1 – A draw at full time – 23/10

2 – Simone Bastoni to score anytime – 15/2

3 – Both teams to score – 11/14

4 – Under 2.5 goals – 10/11

5 – Cremonese to score a penalty – 11/2

It’s a relegation six pointer at the Stadio Alberto Picco on Sunday, as Cremonese travel to face Spezia. The hosts may have a five-point cushion on their weekend opponents but a defeat to newly promoted Monza last week has the pressure very much on manager Luca Gotti.

Things are going even worse for Massimiliano Alvini’s side who are yet to pick up their first three points this campaign. With just three points on the board in total, Cremonese are second from bottom in the Serie a table with nine matches played.

On a more positive note, the Grigiorossi have seen their form improve with three draws in their last five games, including one against Atalanta. Clearly Alvini’s side are able to dig deep at times and for this reason, we predict a draw come final whistle on Sunday. A point may not do either side much good mathematically. But it would avoid a morally damaging defeat.

Spezia’s primary problem over the past few weeks has been with goal scoring. The Aquilotti have failed to register in either of their last two games, with just one in their last four. Gotti has just two players from his entire squad on the scoresheet, with left-back Simone Bastoni the default second-top scorer.

That being said, Cremonese’s poor defensive record should give the hosts the chance to right their poor offensive record. A bet on both teams to score may well pay off and hand Gotti’s strikers a much needed confidence boost.

Even so, Sunday’s game is unlikely to provide much entertainment for the neutral. This fixture has seen more than two goals scored just once in the last six meetings, with a wager on 2.5 on under likely to pay off.

Furthermore, the visitors have been far from prolific themselves this season, relying on a penalty for their draw against Lecce. Another spot-kick from the hosts could be in the offing this weekend.

Cremonese team news

Massimiliano Alvini could return to a strike partnership at the weekend with David Okereke returning to the team. Felix Afena-Gyan could be pushed out wide to allow for the tactical change with Luca Zanimacchia missing out. Vlad Chiriches and Jack Hendry are both sidelined through injury.
