Simone Inzaghi is not concerned about Lautaro Martinez’s goal drought and explains what Inter need to get a result against Barcelona tonight.

The Nerazzurri visit the Catalans at the Nou Camp tonight, one week after their controversial 1-0 win at San Siro.

“It was an opportunity, a big night, but now we must continue. We must be united and play in the best way,” Inzaghi told Prime Video.

The Nerazzurri had faced Barcelona on the back of two successive Serie A defeats against Udinese and Roma, but seem to have reacted having beaten the Catalans and Sassuolo in the following league match.

“We must accept criticism, but I have smart players who can understand these moments. We are facing one game at a time, the last two were very positive,” said the coach.

Lautaro Martinez will start at Nou Campo tonight and try to end his eight-game goal drought.

El Toro has yet to find the net in the Champions League this term and scored his last Serie A goal on August 30 against Cremonese.

“Lautaro is working well for the team, it’s a tricky moment, but a striker should be concerned when he has no chances and has created them in the last games,” noted Inzaghi.

“Looking backwards to when I was playing, I was more worried when I had no chance to shoot.”

The Nerazzurri have six points in three Champions League group-stage games and collected 15 points in the opening nine Serie A matches. They are currently eight points behind table leaders Napoli.
