Serie A side Spezia have announced that Victor Kovalenko and a member of the coaching staff have both tested positive for COVID-19.
The positive tests emerged during the swabs that were taken as the group returned from the Christmas break.
In agreement with the local health authority (ASL), the decision was made to cancel today’s planned training session.
There will be another series of swabs to clarify if the virus has spread any further throughout the squad and Thiago Motta’s coaching staff.
Spezia are due to resume their Serie A season against Hellas Verona on January 6.
