Alitalia have set up a flight directly from Rome to Liverpool purely for the Champions League semi-final.

The first leg of the showdown is at Anfield on April 24, with the decider at the Olimpico on May 2.

There are no flights that go directly from Rome to Liverpool, so fans wanting to make the journey would need to take two or even more separate journeys.

Alitalia have announced plans to have a plane making that journey just so the Roma supporters can travel to witness this historic match.

The flight will have 524 seats, but the cost is a massive €750 to go from Fiumicino on the morning of the match and return at 1am that evening.

Meanwhile, tickets are going fast for the second leg in Rome, with 22,000 already sold and another 35,000 put on sale tomorrow morning.

Around 100 are already queuing outside the ticket office overnight with sleeping bags to ensure they don’t miss out.
