Italy coach Luciano Spalletti is drawing up his squad for the crucial Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Ukraine.

The Azzurri currently sit third in Group C with 10 points, sitting six behind leaders England and three behind Ukraine, who have played one more game. Four points are needed for Italy to book their spot in next summer’s tournament, but they’ll have another chance through the playoffs if needed.

Tensions are high amongst Italy fans as there are fears that another disappointment could see the national team miss out on another major international tournament, following their recent absences from the last two World Cups.

Page 26 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Spalletti has started to plan out his squad for Italy’s key Euro 2024 qualifiers, deciding to call up Torino’s Alessandro Buongiorno and Monza’s Andrea Colpani.

Arsenal’s Jorginho will also return to the national team. Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Fagioli are out after their recent betting bans, but Nicolo Zaniolo will be present.

  1. No no no!!!!
This fraud cost us World Cup qualification almost singly handedly!
He also missed a pen in the euro final which could have cost us a trophy!

  2. he’s terrible at spot kicks (at least for Italy) but he’s otherwise a solid, dependable performer..

  3. Italy need to get ,chiesa , raspadori Bonaventura and grifo on the pitch at the same time , they would destroy Ukraine and Macedonia in 45 mins , also because arcebi is the only mature centre back , angelo ogbona and rafel toilo of Atalanta Should be invited .
