Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will reportedly offer a new contract until 2025 to Luciano Spalletti even if the Partenopei already have a clause to extend his stay beyond 2023 and the coach seems reluctant to sign a multi-year contract.

Spalletti’s Napoli are the current Serie A leaders and the only unbeaten team in Italy. The Italian tactician’s current deal runs out in the summer and Napoli have an option to extend his stay at the club until 2024.

However, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Napoli President De Laurentiis will sit down with his coach in Antalya, Turkey, where Napoli will prepare for the second part of the campaign in December.

De Laurentiis wants to offer Spalletti a new contract until 2025 with a pay rise.

The 63-year-old boss currently gets €3m per season, but according to the report, he is reluctant to sign a multi-year extension.

“At my age, I have no time for multi-year contracts,” Spalletti has recently claimed.

“I’m 63 and I want to live things one step at a time, so I am in no rush. I feel well here and I am only thinking about working.”

Spalletti signed a two-year deal with Napoli in 2021 and finished third in his first season at the Stadio Maradona.
