Luciano Spalletti says “positive thoughts” are behind Inter’s recent revival, as they prepare to face Milan tomorrow.

The Derby della Madonnina was postponed in the wake of Davide Astori’s death, and the two sides will face off at San Siro tomorrow evening.

“My players have done well to get back in to a position that is not decisive,” Spalletti explained in his pre-match Press conference.

“This game is worth a lot because not everyone has the chance to take points from a game in hand. It’ll take our best.

“This new atmosphere comes from what the players have done, with a heart full of Inter. They got through the suffering with what they’re in love with, their work.

“They’re [also] in love with their fans because they all follow Inter.

“It’s about always being able to show our quality over the 100 minutes, during the week all the positive thoughts have to come together.

“It was a period we can’t be happy with, but by continually trying and not throwing away our certainties we found the solution.”

The Coach then discussed the dangers posed by the Rossoneri tomorrow.

“We know Milan are a strong team. We have important potential and we’ll play the game convinced of that.

“They’re doing well though, they’re playing good football based on possession, on building from the back and then suddenly getting it forward, because [Leonardo] Bonucci can pretend to play short and then suddenly put the ball in behind your defence, and there are wingers that push forward.

“They’re good at playing in the straits, they have quality and we have to be just as strong and dominate the game, while being tactically aware of what our opponents are doing and how to counter that.

“Can we knock them out of the Champions League race? They’d remain in a good position in the table, and given the mentality of their Coach it wouldn’t change anything.

“But the points would definitely start to be different.”
