Former Roma and Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Orsi says Luciano Spalletti will leave the Giallorossi for his results as much as any other reason.

The 58-year-old Coach replaced Rudi Garcia midway through last season and transformed the club's fortunes, leading them to a third place Serie A finish.

This campaign he has Roma in second place in Italy's top flight, but disappointing Europa League and Coppa Italia exits as well as the arrival of Monchi as director of football have led to uncertainty surrounding his future.

"Spalletti will leave Roma because of the results he has achieved," Orsi said during an interview with Radio Radio.

"Over this last year and a half, he hasn't excited me. I was expecting more, especially in Europe but it isn't just that."

Should Spalletti leave, one of the names touted to replace him is Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery. The Spaniard worked with Monchi during the duo's successful stint at Sevilla, winning three consecutive Europa League titles.

However, Orsi is uncertain whether the Basque tactician would be a suitable candidate for the job.

"Emery? He intrigues me but he has never won a League title."
