Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti insists Leandro Paredes “doesn’t want to go anywhere” and discusses Kostas Manolas.

Both players have been linked with a move away from the Giallorossi today, and the Coach was asked about the pair in his pre-Cesena Press conference.

“Paredes? We live in the same apartment block so we got to speak. He told me ‘I don’t want to go anywhere’. If we succeed in transfers even against the will of some players, these words pleased me.

“We’ve tried not to let anyone leave, and it’s fine for me that we haven’t taken anyone. We had a chance to get [Clement] Grenier and we took it.

“Manolas? If Roma are considered a good team, on the level of Juventus then it’s because of these players like [Radja] Nainggolan, [Kevin] Strootman, Manolas etc…

“Maybe he’s unhappy because he didn’t play in a game against Sampdoria but that doesn’t mean he made a transfer request. My esteem for him is the same.

“Tomorrow night he has to give the performance of a leader, especially at a difficult time after a defeat.

“Manolas is strong and the club takes that into consideration and believes in him.

"Even if a club comes in with a substantial offer, it’s normal that there would be doubts because we’re talking about a strong player."
