Inter have reportedly already begun the process of securing a Coach for 2012-13 with indications abound that Luciano Spalletti is their first choice.

La Gazzetta dello Sport are running the line on Tuesday morning that Nerazzurro President Massimo Moratti, a long-term admirer of Spalletti’s, has already contacted the current Zenit St Petersburg Coach with a view to him taking over next summer.

It is believed that Moratti is keen to both avoid a repeat of last summer’s last-minute search for a Coach when Leonardo left midway through it to join Paris Saint-Germain and to ensure that Inter have a replacement lined up if current Coach Claudio Ranieri is deemed unsuccessful at the season’s end.

A major barrier, though, is likely to come in the form of the reduced transfer budget that Spalletti would have to work with alongside Moratti at San Siro. In Russia, Zenit have provided the former Roma boss with an almost unlimited pot to shape his team with.
