Luciano Spalletti was happy to have Piotr Zielinski and Victor Osimhen back ahead of tonight’s match against Bologna.

David Ospina and Lorenzo Insigne are both out injured for the Partenopei this evening, but Spalletti can smile following the returns of Zielinski and Osimhen. The team need a win tonight if they want to keep up the pressure on second place Milan, who face Spezia this evening.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of tonight’s match against Bologna, Spalletti first discussed the return of Zielinski and Osimhen.

“I’m pleased, almost always, with my available squad. It’s from the quality of the whole squad that you can come out as a strong team. Zielinski and Osimhen have characteristics that are hard to find in other players. Having them with us gives serenity to the whole team.”

The Italian coach then gave his thoughts on Rossoblu coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and if he’s supporting Napoli in the title race.

“It’s easy to have a relationship with Sinisa because he says what he thinks. If he has shown this respect towards the city of Naples and the players it means that he’s an intelligent person, he understands football and if he has highlighted certain aspects it’s because he believes in it, Naples deserves everyone’s sympathy.

“It’s a compliment to the players that we reciprocate, because with him Bologna has scored the most points in their history.”

Napoli have won two of their last five league matches and are coming into this game following a 5-2 Coppa Italia loss to Fiorentina last weekend. Spalletti is hoping to restore the team’s good form ahead of the key stages of the season; the team currently sit seven points behind league leaders Inter.
