The Old Lady will return to the competition after winning the Scudetto last term and the Zenit boss is a big fan of the Italian forward.
“Giovinco could be the revelation of the new Champions League,” he noted. “He looks in really good shape.”
The forward returned to hometown club Juve in the summer after spending the last two campaigns at the Stadio Tardini.
“His experience at Parma, where he grew and matured as a player, has made him tougher,” the former Roma boss added. “Now that he has returned to Juve, he is ready for his consecration.
“He will be good for Juventus, but also for Italian football. Sebastian has skills and talent. When he starts to run at you he can do some real damage and get defences out of shape.”
