A delighted Luciano Spalletti says “I got the players I wanted” as the Inter boss calls up all his new faces to face Roma on Saturday.

Spalletti’s team selection for the trip to Roma means full-backs Joao Cancelo and Dalbert are in line to make their Inter debuts, while Stevan Jovetic and Gabriel Barbosa – both linked with exits – could appear against the Coach’s former club.

“Totti? I’ve told him everything I had to tell him. He’s free to think whatever he wants,” he said at a Press conference.

“He’ll always have a piece of my heart because he’s given me so much. Between us, there are no scores to settle. I’ll happily greet him if I meet him.

“I saw him at the Champions League draw, I hope he does what he wants to do.

“We need to learn from teams like Roma to become great again. Icardi? Now I have a real No 9. He and Perisic are two great gifts.

“I won’t take the same results that I got with Roma. This is a team of stars. Some have lost some of their sparkle, but they’re still [stars].

“I don’t want to limit myself and I always think my players are the best.

“Transfers? Our directors are very good and have done things well, while respecting the rules, which no-one is doing anymore.

“I already knew Borja and Vecino and what they could give, while Dalbert is a great full-back.

“I got the players I wanted, then Kondogbia made us change our plans a bit, but Cancelo, who’s an ‘Inter’ player, came in.

“He and Dalbert are very attacking, but they’re the players we need. Of course, we must find balance at the back.

“There’s still something missing, but our market has still been very good.

“Can my reception at Roma affect Inter? No, but if we don’t play like a team against these great sides then we’ll be swept away.

“It’s clear that the game with Roma is special for me, but I don’t want to see my team struggle, like we did against Fiorentina in the final half-hour. We must become like Roma.”

Inter squad for Roma: Handanovic, Padelli, Berni; Cancelo, Ranocchia, Ansaldi, Dalbert, D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Nagatomo, Vanheusden; Gagliardini, Joao Mario, Vecino, Valero, Brozovic; Jovetic, Icardi, Eder, Perisic, Candreva, Gabigol, Pinamonti
