Perhaps most importantly for Paulo Sousa’s side, Giuseppe Rossi played the full match, and the Portuguese Coach spoke of his delight after the match.

“I’m happy for him, it was important for him to get 90 minutes,” Sousa told local media.

“I’m also pleased with where we are as a team. When the transfer window is still open there’s always the fear of losing important players, but we’ve reached a good understanding in both phases of play.

“Now we have to get consistency.”

The Viola also confirmed the signing of Nikola Kalinic this evening, and Sousa believes the Croatian will bring something different to his team.

“He’s a good player, who will have to compete with the others. He’ll bring us something different, and I’m happy about that.”
