Sean Sogliano has quit as Palermo sporting director – exactly a year after now Roma official Walter Sabatini did the same thing.

Sogliano only joined the Rosanero in the summer after doing some fine work in Serie B with little Varese.

However, after clashing on a number of occasions with fiery President Maurizio Zamparini, the director has decided to walk.

It's understood that the two men initially argued on transfer deadline day and tension has remained ever since.

Zamparini yesterday alluded to the fact that there were a few problems in their relationship at the Stadio Barbera.

"If he thinks he's in charge then he's joined the wrong club," Zamparini stated on Radio Radio. "I'm the boss here."

Sogliano's departure will now raise question marks about the future of tactician Devis Mangia.

He was brought to Sicily by Sogliano to take charge of the youth team, but he was promoted to the top job after Zamparini fired Stefano Pioli just months into his stint.
