Reports from Russia yesterday suggested that a €20m bid would be made for the player who Inter have superbly coped without because of injury.

However, representative Soren Lerby has underlined that the Dutch international will remain at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“Wesley has no intention of going to Anzhi or Russia,” he is quoted as saying. “These rumours are just not true.

“I don’t know where these stories come from – perhaps someone should ask Guus Hiddink and Anzhi themselves.

“Inter are Sneijder’s club, a place where he is very happy under all aspects.”

Sneijder, 28, has only appeared in five Serie A games so far this season because of fitness issues. He has one goal.
