The Stamford Bridge club originally wanted €6m, but it was negotiated down to far less, including a portion that is performance-related.

It'll end up, with bonuses, at around €3.5-4m, the same amount Chelsea need to buy Lampard out of his Derby County contract.

If all goes to plan, Sarri will terminate the contract by mutual consent on Friday and be free to sign a three-year deal for Juventus.

He’ll also be reunited with Giovanni Martusciello, the assistant manager he had at Empoli.

Martusciello was not allowed to leave Empoli for the role at Napoli, but is now able to join his mentor in Turin, as he was fired along with all of Luciano Spalletti's Inter staff.
