The Nerazzurri fought back from a deflected Christian Eriksen strike, turning the game around with Mauro Icardi’s fantastic volley and a stoppage-time Matias Vecino header.

“We pulled out absolutely everything we had left and even those who didn’t play still contributed to the comeback,” the defender told Sky Sport Italia.

“We are a strong team. I don’t think I personally had a good performance, but the important thing is that we won. When you get booked after 20 minutes, it changes your whole approach.

“The Coach told me before the game that I would be playing as a full-back and that’s fine.

“We got a few things wrong in Serie A so far this season, but this victory puts us right back on track.”
