Slovenian referee Damir Skomina will officiate Napoli’s Champions League showdown with Liverpool on Tuesday.

The group remains wide open, as any two from Liverpool, Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain can still go through to the Round of 16.

Skomina will be assisted by Jure Praprotnik and Robert Vukan, with Slavko Vincic and Matej Jug as the additional assistant referees.

The fourth official is Tomaz Klancnik.

Skomina is a 42-year-old Slovenian has officiated English sides for club and country for 10 victories, seven draws and 17 defeats.

Curiously, Liverpool have lost all four of their previous matches with Skomina, including the 2-1 home defeat to Fiorentina in December 2009 and last season’s 4-2 Champions League semi-final at Roma.

Skomina’s record with Italian sides is 14 victories, five draws and eight losses.

Napoli won three of their four matches with this official, including a 2-1 home success against Manchester City in November 2011 and 3-0 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk last season.

The only defeat was 3-1 away to Real Madrid, the Round of 16 in February 2017.

Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to Red Star Belgrade has been assigned to Scotland’s Willie Collum.
