Palermo's Salvatore Sirigu is again being linked with a switch to Genoa after the injury sustained by Inter's Emiliano Viviano.

The latter was set to arrive at Genoa after the Italian Super Cup Final on August 6 between Inter and Milan.

Viviano picked up a knee problem at the weekend though which will rule him out of action for around six months.

Genoa have now switched their attention to Sebastien Frey of Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”8″>Fiorentina, but it's unclear whether they can afford him.

Frey earns €2m a season in Florence.

If Genoa can't agree personal terms with the Frenchman, then Palermo No 1 Sirigu is a much cheaper option.

The Italian international earns just €250,000 a season, although he's trying to get a pay increase in Sicily that will see him net €850,000 a campaign.

If Sirigu is released by Palermo then the Sicilian outfit could target Novara 'keeper Samir Ujkani as his replacement.
