Diego Simeone is adamant that Catania deserved their last-gasp point in Turin. “Anyone who gives up goes into Serie B.”

The Elefantini were 2-0 down for most of the game, but fought back in the final nine minutes to draw 2-2 with Juventus.

“In the first half we did well up until Alessandro Del Piero's goal. After the break we reacted and showed great character when 2-0 down,” said the Coach.

“The result was earned on the pitch and I don't think he got anything that we did not deserve tonight.

“My lads showed grit and determination to fight back, never letting go. The little teams are all playing well at the moment and anyone who gives up goes into Serie B.”

Former Inter star Simeone celebrated in a Jose Mourinho style, running along the touchline when Francesco Lodi curled in with the last kick of the game.

“I celebrated like that because we had a difficult week and did not deserve to lose this evening.

“It has to be said, though, that Del Piero remains a champion. He does things on the field that others cannot.”
