Palermo defender Matias Silvestre will probably be targeted by a top club at the end of the season, says his agent.

The 27-year-old only joined the Rosanero from Sicilian rivals Catania in the summer, but another move could be on the horizon.

“He is tied to Palermo by a four-year deal, but I think he may receive a call from one of the big teams in June,” Fernando Cosentino told TMW.

“Matias has done really well with Palermo from the start even though it wasn’t easy to make a move from Catania to the Rosanero.

“He’s happy at Palermo, but if an important offer arrived, and I think one will, we’ll all agree so that he could join a big club.”

Silvestre, two goals in 23 Serie A games this term, was paired with a January move to Roma given their defensive issues.

“Those rumours were true, but Palermo, quite rightly, made it clear that they were not ready to sell at that time,” the representative continued.

“A January sale was virtually impossible. You never know what may happen in June though if a significant bid is made to Palermo.”
