Andre Silva felt Portugal were “the better team on the night” against Italy and told Gianluigi Donnarumma “there are no friends on the pitch.”

The former Milan striker, who is on loan at Sevilla with option to buy, scored the only goal in Lisbon for the Nations League encounter.

“We were expecting a strong Italy performance, but we were up to it and did well to neutralise them,” the current Sevilla forward told RTP.

“I have some friends in the Italian national team, but there are no friends on the pitch. I have to focus only on getting the victory for Portugal.

“I did think that overall we were the better team on the night and deserved the win.”
