The veteran forward quit the game in June after the tournament in Poland and Ukraine, but could be on the verge of a comeback if Mitra Kukar F.C team manager Roni Fauzan is to be believed.
The 36-year-old goalscorer has been offered the chance to come out of retirement to play for the Indonesian Super League club, something the board member is keen to make a reality.
“Obviously we are interested in Shevchenko,” he told reporters. “We are in negotiations, but we have to continue to talk about economics.
“We would like to sign him for 10 games. Regarding a salary – I'm sure we can find the money to bring him here.”
