Andriy Shevchenko insists he is focused on Ukraine and has not been contacted by Milan. “I love the club, but I’m not thinking about them now.”

The former striker had been suggested as a potential replacement for Marco Giampaolo, as the new Coach has lost four of his first six Serie A games.

“I love Milan, but the club has not contacted me and on a professional level I’m not thinking about Milan right now,” Sheva told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I love Milan, but the club has not contacted me and on a professional level I’m not thinking about Milan right now,” Sheva told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am the Coach of Ukraine and all my effort is focused on my country. I want to go to Euro 2020 with my players. I am here in Milan at the moment, but that’s because I am watching the Ukraine players and after the Atalanta game, I’ll go to dinner with my Milan friends. That’s just a social thing, because we’re still good friends.

“Having said all that, Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are a real guarantee for Milan, who will get back on their feet soon. Milan remains in my heart and I am sure they’ll work it out soon.”

Other candidates if Giampaolo is fired include Claudio Ranieri and Rudi Garcia.
