Ex-Roma midfielder Leandro Greco alleged there is a “shameful” attempt by the club to discredit Daniele De Rossi so fans won’t protest his sale.
The reports of De Rossi’s departure intensified in recent weeks after he was dropped by Zdenek Zeman, then received a red card during the Rome derby and a three-match ban.

The reports of De Rossi’s departure intensified in recent weeks after he was dropped by Zdenek Zeman, then received a red card during the Rome derby and a three-match ban.
“I think they are finally going to succeed in selling De Rossi,” Olympiacos talent Greco told Radio Manà Manà.
“They have been able to change the mentality of the people, as until a few months ago the fans would’ve been ready to march through the streets to defend him.
“What’s happening at Roma is shameful. He is a serious professional, his sale would be damaging to both Roma and the city of Rome.”
De Rossi has been linked with Manchester City and PSG.
