The Serie B playoffs will go ahead as planned after Palermo’s appeal to have them suspended was rejected.

Palermo said on Wednesday that they ‘expected’ the playoffs to be paused while their appeal for demotion to Serie C was ongoing.

However, the FIGC has announced this evening that the Federal Court of Appeal dismissed the Rosanero’s pleas.

As a result, Spezia-Cittadella and Hellas Verona-Perugia – the latter of whom have replaced the Sicilians – will both be played at 20:00 BST on Friday.
