Milan are expected to have €40m available to sign a new centre forward next summer, while Tottenham had sounded out Juventus’ Gleison Bremer before signing Radu Dragusin.
The Europa League and Conference League Round of 16 draw took centre stage on Friday, but there were a few transfer stories from Italian media that are worth highlighting.
According to Tuttosport newspaper, Tottenham sounded out Bremer’s availability in the 2023 summer transfer window but decided against offering a big sum for the Brazilian centre-back, who has now emerged as a top transfer target for Manchester United. The Turin-based paper confirms Juventus’ asking price for their star defender is between €60m and €70m. Tottenham, on the other hand, waited until January and signed Dragusin from Genoa instead.
Sky Sport Italia journalist Peppe Di Stefano has claimed that the Rossoneri will have a €40m transfer budget available to sign a new centre forward in the summer given that Olivier Giroud’s future at San Siro is uncertain with a contract expiring in June.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Napoli are prepared to sell Victor Osimhen at the end of the season and Friday’s printed edition of Gazzetta on page 22 suggested that the Nigeria international could move to the Premier League and face Erling Haaland in 2024-25.
Napoli are also expected to hire a new coach for next season and ex-Juventus defender Mark Iuliano has confirmed that Antonio Conte met Aurelio De Laurentiis over the last few months.
