Dave Taylor picks his best XI after another round of heart-stopping games in Serie A.

Julio Cesar [Inter]

On the ball from the start and pulled off the save of the week by tipping Dzemaili's screamer away. Could do nothing about Lavezzi's goal, but if not for him Inter could have been even more embarrassed. Alert.

Julio Cesar [Inter]

On the ball from the start and pulled off the save of the week by tipping Dzemaili's screamer away. Could do nothing about Lavezzi's goal, but if not for him Inter could have been even more embarrassed. Alert.

Giorgio Chiellini [Juventus” data-scaytid=”5″>Juventus]

Was a true rock at the back, making some crucial interventions including stopping Mark Van Bommel. Also attacked down the right flank and set up Fabio Quagliarella only for the striker to fluff it. Solid.

Luca Rossettini [Siena]

Never allowed the Palermo forwards any headway and always ready to halt any menace that looked like progressing. Immediately after the restart he ran into space and walloped home Franco Brienza's free kick with an unstoppable strike. Invulnerable.

Gugliemo Stendardo [Atalanta” data-scaytid=”12″>Atalanta]

The 30-year-old centre back used every inch of his 6ft 3 inches to win every aerial duel. Kept the Roma forward line quiet and give the midfield the confidence to push forward and supply their own forward line. Organised.

Giovanni Marchese [Catania]

Played further up field than his normally defensive role allows and his swashbuckling darts down the left wing caused real problems for Novara. Topped a superb performance with a rocket-launched, volleyed goal from outside the box. Significant.

Dusan Basta [Udinese” data-scaytid=”21″>Udinese]

The Serbian bombed down the right the whole match and was rewarded as he dribbled past two defenders before chipping the goalkeeper. Also laid back a gorgeous pass for Antonio Flores to rifle home the third goal. Exciting.

Blerim Dzmaili [Napoli]

The Swiss playmaker was a menace throughout and had several attempts on target. He was forever setting up attacks and laid on the perfect assist for Lavezzi with an absolutely brilliant through ball. Irresistible.

Juan Zuniga [Napoli]

Always on the go and ran the unfortunate Marco Davide Faraoni ragged. Although forever advancing down the left he never once neglected his defensive duties, which were more to the fore in the second half. Judicious.

Ezequiel Lavezzi [Napoli]

Was all over the Inter defence and if not for Cesar he would have scored more. A truly world-class performance which was only topped by his stupendous goal that curved through the air into the net. Scintillating.

German Denis [Atalanta]

710 minutes after his last goal, like Bergamo buses the Tank's goals all came at once. Apart from his sensational hat-trick he also laid on Guido Marilungo's goal as Roma's defence simply had no answer to him. Unstoppable.

Guido Marilungo [Atalanta]

The youngster worked excellently with Denis and, after narrowly missing one goal, where he had drifted past two Roma defenders, he scored the opener after nonchalantly slipping the ball past the on-rushing Maarten Stekelenburg. Also laid on two assists. Effulgent.
