Serie A stadiums can once again be filled to 75% capacity as the COVID regulations begin to ease.

As announced by the FIGC, stadiums across all regions of Italy can now fill 75% of their seats again, rising from the 50% cap currently in place following the outbreak of the Omicron variant of COVID. Stadiums will not be allowed to return to full capacity until late next month, but this news is still welcome regardless.

Only Super Green Pass holders will be allowed to attend Serie A games, meaning vaccination or a recent recovery from COVID is required. A medical-grade mask must also be worn inside the ground in order to help reduce the spread of the virus.

The news means that atmosphere inside Serie A stadiums can again begin to feel impactful as the decisive part of the season begins, and this is a sign of normality slowly returning after a two-year period dominated by the virus.
