Monza will face off against Bologna next week as planned after Serie A decided to reject the postponement request following the Pablo Mari incident.

The Lombardy side asked for the upcoming clash with the Rossoblu on Monday night to be pushed back after the Arsenal loanee suffered stab wounds in an incident in a supermarket in Lombardy yesterday. Many of the players asked for the game to be postponed, clearly impacted by the situation and resulting injuries suffered by their teammate.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Monza’s request to postpone the match against Bologna has been rejected and the two teams will face off as planned on Monday evening, forcing the squad to play only days after the troubling incident.

Pablo Mari will be sidelined for at least two months following a successful operation. The Arsenal loanee was attacked in a supermarket by a 46-year-old Italian man named Andrea Tombolini, who also attacked four others, sadly killing a 30-year-old cashier.
