Stefano Pioli’s Milan will be hoping to build off the back of their 4-0 win over league leaders Napoli with another strong showing against Empoli.

The match between the Rossoneri and the Azzurri kicks off at 20:00 UK time at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.

Milan looked inconsistent at the start of 2023, allowing Napoli to run away in the title race, but have rediscovered their footing since early February, picking up four wins, including last weekend’s 4-0 thriller against the league leaders.

Inconsistency is still a threat for the Rossoneri, who also lost to Udinese and Fiorentina last month, so they’ll be keen to show their best again as they host Empoli.

When these two teams met back in October, Pioli’s side picked up a 3-1 win in Tuscany.

Milan cannot count on Pierre Kalulu and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, both of whom are sidelined with injuries.

Guglielmo Vicario is absent for Empoli through injury and Lorenzo Tonelli is out suspended.

Probable line-ups for Milan vs Empoli

Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Pobega, Rebic; Giroud.

Empoli (4-3-1-2): Perisan; Ebuehi, Ismajli, Luperto, Parisi; Fazzini, Marin, Bandinelli; Baldanzi; Caputo, Satriano.
