The Partenopei were missing several key players and lost Lorenzo Insigne too in the first half.

Serie A | Napoli 1-0 Sampdoria: Acrobatic Petagna decider

Amir Rrahmani and Faouzi Ghoulam forced saves, while Juan Jesus saw his goal disallowed for an offside position.

When Dries Mertens went down, Petagna kept going and improvised an acrobatic finish on a poor clearance to find the far top corner.

Mertens had a few more opportunities and Axel Tuanzebe made his Napoli debut.
