The nominees have been announced for the Gran Galà del Calcio, often referred to as the Oscars of Italian football.

The award ceremony happens every year, rewarding players and Coaches in various categories, and the shortlists were announced today.

Gianluigi Buffon could be Goalkeeper of the Year for a 13th time, as he’s nominated alongside Gianluigi Donnarumma, Samir Handanovic and Alisson.

Simone Inzaghi, Massimiliano Allegri, Eusebio Di Francesco and Maurizio Sarri have all been nominated for Coach of the Year, and Sandro Tonali is up for the Serie B Young Player of the Year award.

An XI will be put together of the best players in Serie A last season, with an award for referees too.
