“Every game is there to be won and we’ll try to do that in front of our fans, but the important thing is to have a sense of consistency and build over the last few weeks,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We mustn’t forget that we do have a four-point advantage over the relegation zone. There’s nothing to say we will use the same line-up as in recent matches, because there are players like Sergio Floccari who proved they are ready and can partner Andrea Petagna.

“Nothing can be taken for granted in Serie A. We tried to reassure the lads in training this week, to let them become aware of their capabilities and quality.

“We need to be more precise in possession and avoid errors that could spark the kind of counter-attacks that Sergio Pellissier and co are masters at.”

SPAL squad for Chievo: Gomis, Milinkovic-Savic, Poluzzi; Bonifazi, Cionek, Djourou, Felipe, Simic, Vicari; Costa, Dickmann, Everton, Fares, Kurtic, Lazzari, Missiroli, Schiattarella, Valdifiori, Valoti; Antenucci, Floccari, Moncini, Paloschi, Petagna
