Leonardo Semplici is at risk of the sack after a 4-0 drubbing by Milan. “The decisions are not down to me,” confessed the SPAL Coach.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the options to step in are Gianni De Biasi, Edy Reja and Francesco Guidolin, but as things stand, none of these candidates are particularly interested in the job.

“We ran into a strong team and reacted after conceding the goal within two minutes, creating the chances to equalise,” Semplici told Mediaset Premium.

“In my view, the game was more than balanced until the second goal, then Milan deserved to win. Up until that moment, the team had done what it needed to. We must credit Milan, who punished us for some very silly mistakes.”

Semplici was asked about his own personal situation amid rumours he’ll get the axe.

“We met and discussed the situation. Our objective is to ensure safety. This result doesn’t really change what we already knew, which is that it’s a difficult path ahead of us.

“The decisions are not down to me, but I am convinced along with my staff and my lads that we’ll achieve our objective. We must try to win our own mini-tournament made up of four teams to take us out of the relegation zone.”
