The Biancazzurri moved a point clear of the relegation places by holding Fiorentina, who had won their previous six Serie A matches, to a goalless draw at the Artemio Franchi.
“We faced the most in form team currently,” Semplici said after watching his side record a fifth consecutive League draw.

“I need to congratulate the boys, today a lot of them had to play out of position.
“This should give us confidence, we need to have faith in reaching our target.”
The SPAL Coach reserved particular praise for goalkeeper Alex Meret and midfielder Manuel Lazzari, tipping the duo for big things.
“Meret will be one of the goalkeepers for the national team. Lazzari is maybe less well known.
“But he is proving himself year after year. In a couple of years, he will be at an important team.”
