Serie A legend Clarence Seedorf has aimed to win the Brazilian championship after his shock move to Botafogo.

The decorated midfielder left Milan this summer as the club wielded the axe over their veteran players, but Seedorf’s career has surprisingly continued in Brazil where he joined Botafogo as a free agent.

The 36-year-old, in his first Press conference for his new club, boldly claimed: “The fans are dreaming of winning and are aiming high. In 2004, Greece won the European Championship so why can’t Botafogo win the title?”

The former Sampdoria, Inter and Milan player then revealed the reason that he can already speak Portuguese, the native language of Brazil.

“At Real Madrid, my room-mate was Roberto Carlos and he taught me the language,” Seedorf, who is married to a Brazilian, joked.
