Milan director Paolo Maldini was seen tearful during the minute’s silence for Sinisa Mihajlovic ahead of the friendly with Liverpool.
The former Bologna coach sadly passed away on Friday at the age of 53 after a three-year battle with leukaemia. After receiving his diagnosis in July 2019, the Rossoblu confirmed their intention to stand by the former defender and he remained in charge until September of this year.
The pair were often adversaries during their equally legendary playing careers in Serie A and shared a special relationship off the pitch.
