A Benfica delegation visited Superga this morning to pay tribute to the Grande Torino side ahead of their Champions League clash against Juventus.

The Granata side were five-time Scudetti winners and contributed heavily to the Italian national team, being one of the top clubs in the country. On May 4 1949, a plane carrying the team and various others crashed into a wall of the Basilica of Superga, tragically taking the lives of 31 people.

Every year Torino and their fans walk from the city centre to the site of the crash to pay tribute to the team, and today Benfica paid their tributes ahead of their Champions League match against Juventus.
