Milan are reportedly looking to Bologna and Scotland left-back Aaron Hickey as an understudy to Theo Hernandez.

The Rossoneri had brought in Fode Ballo-Toure for the role, but he has disappointed in his debut season and could be either sold or sent out on loan at the end of this term.

He has not played since December 19 against Napoli, also picking up an injury while at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

Instead, Alessandro Florenzi has been shifted over to the left to fill gaps.

Theo Hernandez committed his future to the San Siro giants with a recent contract extension.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and reports emanating from Scotland, Hickey is the main target for Milan over the summer to bolster that area of the squad.

He will turn 20 in June and made the move from Hearts to Bologna in September 2020 for €1.7m.

It has been a very impressive campaign for Hickey, who scored four goals and provided one assist in 27 Serie A appearances.

  1. Again…premature reaction on Toure. The guy has not had a string of minutes so that a proper evaluation can be completed based on his book of work.
