Gianluca Scamacca is ready to depart for London as he prepares to complete a €42m move to West Ham.

The 23-year-old Italian forward is set for the Hammers after they reached an agreement with Sassuolo last season, paying €42m including add-ons for the talented striker. Scamacca could be Italy’s number nine of the future once Ciro Immobile starts to be phased out of the squad, so a move abroad will give him vital experience.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Scamacca will leave for London later today ahead of tomorrow’s probable pre-transfer medicals with West Ham. He has already agreed personal terms and is excited at the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

West Ham’s first game of the season is against Manchester City and it’s rapidly approaching, kicking off on August 7, so they’ll be looking to finalise this deal tomorrow if possible, allowing him to be integrated into David Moyes’ squad.
