Juventus retain a buyback clause for the forward, but in recent days it has been suggested that he could join Inter, or indeed stay with the Neroverdi.

“Berardi to Inter?” Carnevali considered in an interview with Gazzetta di Modena.

“At the moment there’s nothing, only rumours. As I’ve always said, we’re not obliged to sell him, and we want to strengthen Sassuolo, not weaken ourselves.

“We need to understand what Juve’s strategy is, and we’ll talk to his agent and also with the lad. Then we’ll decide, everything is still possible.”

Sime Vrsaljko is reportedly close to Atletico Madrid, are Inter and Napoli out of the race?

“It’s true that Inter asked for Vrsaljko, offering different players [in exchange]. We’re evaluating, but the path to Atletico Madrid and Napoli is still open.”

Finally, the director was asked about Francesco Acerbi.

“He’s one of the players we wouldn’t want to sell,” Carnevali warned.

“I think and hope that he’ll stay with us. The same applies to [Alfred] Duncan.”
