Maurizio Sarri and Claudio Lotito reportedly met yesterday, with the coach asking for several new signings to extend with the Biancocelesti.

The former Juventus and Napoli boss had signed a two-year deal with Lazio last summer and met Lotito yesterday to discuss a potential contract extension. Both parties seemed to be committed to continuing together only a few weeks ago, but the latest 3-0 loss in the Rome derby has brought uncertainties for the coach and the club.

On the one hand, Lotito is not entirely satisfied with the team’s result as Sarri’s men have had too many highs and lows this term. On the other hand, the coach is unhappy with the transfer activity conducted by the club in January. According to Calciomercato.com, he expects seven or eight new signings in the summer to continue his project.

Lotito and Sarri will meet again over the next few weeks, but it’s unlikely that the Tuscan tactician will sign a new deal until 2025 before the end of the season.
