Tonight’s clash between Juventus and Napoli will be the 13th time Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri have faced each other as Coaches.

The first meeting came during the 2003-04 Serie C2 season, with Allegri at Aglianese and Sarri at Sangiovannese.

The two sides met in Arezzo for a Sangiovannese home game on November 16, 2003 in front of just 1,400 fans.

It wasn’t a classic, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that there wasn’t a single shot on target in the 0-0 draw.

Allegri has the better of the previous 12 meetings, with seven wins to Sarri’s two and another three draws.

Seven of those clashes have been between Napoli and Juve, with the Partenopei winning 2-1 in Sarri’s first clash with the Bianconeri on September 16, 2015.

Since then though Allegri has come out on top four times, with Napoli’s only win coming in the second leg of the 2017 Coppa Italia semi-final, where the Turin side went through on aggregate.

Juventus have won the last three in Turin, most recently triumphing 3-2 in the Coppa Italia in February last year.
