Maurizio Sarri describes Manolo Gabbiadini as “a great player” but notes Napoli have “different solutions”.

With the injury to Arkadiusz Milik, the Partenopei are expected to turn to the former Sampdoria forward, but it’s not certain he’ll play against Roma tomorrow.

“I can’t say anything, otherwise that would mean something had changed,” Sarri shrugged in his pre-match Press conference.

“They played in almost the same way. Milik isn’t there, now Gabbiadini is. We’ll figure something out, because Manolo can’t play all the time, but for me he just has to play. He’s a great player.

“We have different solutions, it depends on the match. I think [Dries] Mertens can do better against teams which sit in, while [Jose] Callejon can do well in behind teams if they push the defence up.”

Sarri was also asked how far he feels the Vesuviani can go in the future.

“It depends on how much we can improve certain limitations. In the long-run I agree with what the club has done, avoiding taking players who are older.

“We’ve taken young players and maybe we’ll be cursed for that for six months but in the long-run it’ll be important because they're 18, 21, 22.

“On the other hand, the limit is that we can only play one way, dominating the match, and we struggle to score points in games where we can’t do that.”
