Napoli have extended Coach Maurizio Sarri’s contract, reportedly without holding a meeting to discuss terms.

The Partenopei have a rolling deal in their favour, giving President Aurelio De Laurentiis the power to extend or cancel the tactician’s contract at the end of every season.

The club has now triggered that option, depositing Sarri’s contract with the Lega Serie A, on the same terms as last year’s agreement.

The club has now triggered that option, depositing Sarri’s contract with the Lega Serie A, on the same terms as last year’s agreement.

That will see the Coach earn around €800,000 per year, plus bonuses, but that is significantly lower than some of his rivals.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri earns around €4.5m per season, while Roberto Mancini of Inter takes home €4m.

According to CalcioNews24, that could cause some friction between club and Coach, as Sarri was hoping for an increase in his salary after taking Napoli to second-place in Serie A.

It's thought the tactician had expected to hold a meeting to discuss the renewal, though it remains a possibility that his wages will be increased now he is tied down.
