Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri does not believe Leonardo Bonucci is a racist but claims the Juventus defender ‘made a mistake’.
Bonucci controversially suggested Moise Kean had provoked Cagliari fans into racially abusing him during Juve’s 2-0 win at the Sardegna Arena on Tuesday.
Sarri, meanwhile, had one of his players – Callum Hudson-Odoi – suffer at the hands of monkey chants during England’s 5-1 win in Montenegro last month.

Sarri, meanwhile, had one of his players – Callum Hudson-Odoi – suffer at the hands of monkey chants during England’s 5-1 win in Montenegro last month.
“Hudson-Odoi is very strong, he has a great character, strong boy,” said the former Napoli Coach at a Press conference, football.london reports.
“I was surprised at this happening in Cagliari, usually it is a good atmosphere so I was surprised.
“Bonucci made a mistake but I am sure he probably wanted to say something different because I am sure Leonardo is not racist.
“He made a mistake, we can only be an example for people but it’s difficult to solve the problem.”
