Riccardo Saponara has conceded that he ‘does not feel ready’ for a stab at another club like Milan just yet.
The midfielder briefly endured six months with the Rossoneri before returning to Empoli on a temporary deal in January.
With his form improved, it was put to the 23-year-old that he and M’Baye Niang – at Genoa now – could have helped Milan’s fortunes had they been given a little more faith.

With his form improved, it was put to the 23-year-old that he and M’Baye Niang – at Genoa now – could have helped Milan’s fortunes had they been given a little more faith.
“That should not be asked of me, and perhaps Niang and I would not have made a difference,” Saponara considered after yesterday’s win over Napoli.
“There are strong players at Milan, whilst I believe there are other problems there. I am happy for myself and Niang, we are showing our quality through playing continuously.
“In Milan there were different pressures, in the games as in training. Over time I am maturing, I can improve from the psychological point of view.
“The future? I do not know, I have to grow and to play with continuity. I do not want to block my path of growth again, I do not feel ready for a new, important stage.
“I have to play once more in a team not of that high standard, so as to improve.”
